Create and publish guides without fighting Word

GuideLab is a desktop app for writing install and setup guides. Annotate your screenshots, add captions, and export to PDF, Word, PowerPoint, or HTML. Nothing ever leaves your computer.

25 spots. Selected testers get a free prerelease build directly.

Features

A canvas that grows with you

The canvas expands to fit whatever you add, so nothing outside the original frame gets clipped. Reorder images and annotations front to back, and it exports exactly as arranged.

Full annotation toolkit

Arrows, shapes, text boxes, blur, freehand markup, all of it. Arrows can even curve; grab the handle and bend it toward whatever you're pointing at.

Automatic step capture

Turn on Record and GuideLab adds a new step every time you click in another app: screenshot, suggested caption, and all, with your cursor never showing up in the shot.

Visual layout editor

Drag steps into rows, drag rows onto new pages, and watch the real exported layout update live as you rearrange.

Export anywhere

One guide turns into a PDF, a Word doc, a PowerPoint deck, or an HTML page, your call. PowerPoint exports even keep shapes and text fully editable, not flattened into a picture.

100% local

Your guides and screenshots stay on your machine. No account, no syncing to someone else's server, just a portable .guide file you back up yourself.
